Photography Assistant

A Photography Assistant supports a professional photographer during shoots and the post-production process by setting up equipment, managing props, assisting with lighting, and performing administrative tasks like client communication, scheduling, and file management. Duties also include handling technical aspects such as operating cameras and editing software, ensuring the smooth operation of a photo shoot, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Key Responsibilities

• Equipment Management: Setting up, breaking down, and maintaining cameras, lighting, and other photographic equipment.
• Shoot Support: Assisting with lighting, positioning models, and framing shots to help the photographer capture the desired images.
• Logistics & Organization: Organizing props, backdrops, and ensuring all necessary gear is available and ready for the shoot.
• Technical Tasks: Operating editing software for tasks like color correction and retouching, and downloading and organizing image files.
• Client Interaction: Communicating with clients, managing appointments, and providing customer support as needed.
• Administrative Duties: Scheduling, managing travel, preparing for shoots, and keeping records of files and logs.
• On-Set Tasks: Ensuring the set is hazard-free, securing cables, and performing other duties to ensure the smooth flow of a photo shoot.

• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with professional camera equipment, lighting, and photo editing software.
• Detail-Oriented: Ability to handle minor details that allow the photographer to focus on the art of the shot.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for clear communication with the photographer, clients, and other team members.
• Organization: Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, equipment, and files effectively.
• Physical Stamina: The ability to carry and set up heavy equipment and work long hours.
• Flexibility & Adaptability: A willingness to work long and flexible hours and travel to different locations.
