Role Definition:
The Photo Editor is responsible for editing, curating, and managing photographs to ensure consistent quality and alignment with Mayartha’s visual standards. The role also involves coordinating with the Operations Head and clients as required for edit inputs and feedback.
Responsibility Deliverables:
1. Photo editing and file management.
2. Quality control, brand consistency, and timely delivery.
3. Communication with the client and technical team.
Tasks and Activities:
1) Photo editing and file management:
• Editing images from a variety of projects, including weddings, corporate shoots, commercial assignments, and social media campaigns.
• Reviewing and shortlisting the best images from raw files based on focus, framing, composition, and expression.
• Performing professional color correction, tone adjustment, exposure balancing, and retouching while maintaining a natural and consistent look.
• Applying creative enhancements such as skin retouching, background clean-up, or color stylization when required.
• Preparing final images in appropriate formats and resolutions for different platforms — print, web, albums, or digital delivery.
• Organizing, naming, and backing up files systematically to ensure efficient workflow and secure data management.
• Maintaining structured Lightroom catalogs, Photoshop files, and shared project folders for easy team access.
2) Quality control, delivery timelines, and technical proficiency:
• Ensuring every edited image reflects Mayartha’s brand aesthetic and storytelling approach.
• Conducting quality checks for consistency in color, exposure, and composition across photo sets.
• Ensuring all deliverables meet the required technical standards and creative expectations.
• Meeting deadlines as communicated by the operations team and updating project progress logs regularly.
• Keeping up-to-date with the latest photography and editing trends, tools, and software techniques to enhance output quality.
3) Communication with client, and technical team:
• Collaborating with the Operations Head, photographers, and videographers to understand each project’s tone, lighting, and visual goals.
• Coordinating with clients (when required) to understand preferred color tones, moods, or retouching preferences.
• Sharing previews for review and implementing feedback efficiently.
• Providing suggestions to the photography team for improving shoot outcomes or optimizing the editing workflow.
Tools & Skills Required:
• Proficiency in Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, and related editing tools.
• Strong understanding of color theory, composition, and storytelling through visuals.
• Keen attention to detail and ability to maintain visual consistency across large sets of images.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
