As a Pharmacy Manager, your role involves overseeing the daily functioning of the pharmacy to ensure a smooth workflow. Your responsibilities will include: - Ensuring the proper dispensing of medications, which includes verifying prescriptions and ensuring dosage accuracy. - Supervising pharmacy staff to ensure that their duties are carried out effectively. - Developing and enforcing internal policies and procedures to ensure the safe and effective use of medications. - Managing the pharmacy inventory, including ordering, stocking, and storage of medications. - Monitoring stock levels and ordering medications in a timely manner to prevent shortages. - Performing regular inventory audits and reconciling any discrepancies. - Ensuring proper storage conditions for medications, adhering to safety and regulatory standards. - Supervising, training, and mentoring pharmacy staff to maintain high standards of practice. - Conducting performance evaluations and providing constructive feedback to staff. - Organizing regular training sessions for staff on new medication practices, regulatory changes, and customer service. - Providing medication counseling to patients, including instructions on dosage, side effects, and storage. - Addressing and resolving any patient inquiries or concerns regarding medication. - Working closely with healthcare providers to ensure optimal drug therapy management. - Ensuring compliance with national and local regulatory requirements concerning pharmacy practice. - Maintaining accurate records of prescriptions, inventory, and controlled substances. - Ensuring that the pharmacy meets safety and health standards, including managing hazardous drugs and ensuring proper disposal of medications. - Staying updated on changes in regulations and pharmacy best practices. - Helping in managing the pharmacy's budget, ensuring cost-effective practices. - Analyzing and reporting on financial performance related to inventory costs and sales. - Assisting in maintaining cost controls and achieving budgetary targets. - Collaborating with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive appropriate care. - Participating in multidisciplinary meetings to discuss patient care plans. - Communicating any issues related to medications, such as drug interactions or allergies, to relevant healthcare professionals.
