Pharmacy Assistant

Job Title: Pharmacy Assistant (Diploma in Pharmacy)

Job Purpose:

To assist the pharmacist in preparing, dispensing, and managing medicines while providing good customer service and ensuring all pharmacy rules are followed.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Dispensing Medicines:
• Prepare and dispense medicines as per doctor’s prescription.
• Check doses, expiry dates, and labels carefully.
• Provide proper instructions for medicine use under pharmacist supervision.
• Customer Service:
• Help and guide customers politely.
• Answer basic medicine-related questions or refer to the pharmacist.
• Handle billing and maintain customer records.
• Stock and Inventory:
• Receive and check medicine supplies.
• Store medicines properly (temperature, expiry, etc.).
• Maintain stock records and inform about shortages.
• Documentation:
• Maintain prescription and sales records as per regulations.
• Help in maintaining daily registers (Schedule H, H1, etc.).
• Assist in preparing purchase orders and invoices.
• Cleanliness and Safety:
• Keep the pharmacy clean and organized.
• Follow all hygiene and safety rules.
• Dispose of expired or damaged medicines safely.

Skills and Qualities:

• Good knowledge of medicines and dosages
• Strong communication and customer-handling skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Basic computer knowledge
• Responsible and honest

Education and Qualification:

• Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) from a recognized institute
• Registration with the State Pharmacy Council (if required)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
