Pharmacy Assistant

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Pharmacist in dispensing prescription and non-prescription medicines.
• Provide information and guidance to customers on the proper use of medications and general health products (under pharmacist supervision).
• Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, sales, and stock.
• Manage inventory: receive, unpack, and store pharmaceutical supplies.
• Label medicines and package prescriptions for customers.
• Process billing, handle cash/card transactions, and maintain point-of-sale systems.
• Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws, health & safety regulations, and confidentiality standards.
• Organize and maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked pharmacy environment.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and maintaining patient profiles.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond to queries in a professional manner.

• Basic knowledge of medicines and healthcare products.

• Proficiency in computer and billing software.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (mandatory).
• Certification/Diploma in Pharmacy Assistance or related field (preferred).
• Prior experience in a pharmacy or retail healthcare setting is an advantage.
