Pharmacist

Job Summary

The Pharmacist is responsible for preparing, dispensing, and reviewing prescriptions, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications. They provide expert advice to patients and healthcare professionals regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and proper medication use. The Pharmacist also ensures compliance with all legal, regulatory, and ethical standards related to pharmaceutical practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, interpret, and dispense prescriptions accurately.
• Provide counseling and education to patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, and storage.
• Monitor patient medication therapies for effectiveness and safety.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate patient and inventory records.
• Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
• Manage stock levels, perform inventory control, and check for expired or recalled drugs.
• Prepare and compound customized medications when necessary.
• Stay updated with new pharmaceutical developments, drug information, and treatment protocols.
• Participate in quality assurance and patient safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
• Valid pharmacist license/registration in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, and drug interactions.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
• Proficiency with pharmacy management software and electronic medical records.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Previous experience in hospital or retail pharmacy (as applicable).
• Experience with patient counseling and medication therapy management (MTM).
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
