The DAV Group - Chennai, functioning under the aegis of Tamil Nadu Arya Samaj Educational Society was established in 1970 at Gopalapuram in Chennai with just 50 students. The Group today, caters to over 40,000 students across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. It has a staff of 1500 plus which includes 1,200 teachers. Four of our branches have been consistently ranked amongst top 15 schools in the country.In addition to K-12 schooling, DAV has recently ventured into Higher Education with DAV-SMK Fomra College of Arts & Science at Kelambakkam, Chennai.

In this context, we would be interested in recruiting suitable candidates for the position of a qualified Chemistry teacher for senior‑secondary classes (11 & 12). The teacher will deliver Chemistry lessons (theory and practical), prepare students for board exams (and optionally competitive exams), and foster scientific thinking, conceptual clarity, and confidence in the subject.

Educational Qualification

• Master’s degree in Chemistry (or related subject) from a recognized university.
• Professional teaching qualification (e.g. B.Ed or equivalent) — as per school/board norms.
• Strong subject knowledge and ability to teach Chemistry effectively at higher‑secondary level

Roles & Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver well‑structured Chemistry lessons (theory + practical) for Classes 11 and 12 as per school/board syllabus.
• Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, assignments, and lab sessions (if lab available).
• Conduct regular assessments — tests, assignments, practicals; evaluate student performance and provide feedback and guidance.
• Provide remedial or extra support to students needing additional help (board exam prep, conceptual clarity, revisions).
• Maintain class records — attendance, academic performance, lab records and progress reports.
• Create and maintain a disciplined, supportive, inclusive, and encouraging classroom and lab environment.
• (Optional / Preferred) Guide students preparing for competitive exams (e.g. engineering/medical entrance exams), offering additional classes or doubt‑clearing sessions, if school allows.

*Added Advantage (if applicable / preferred)*

• Experience in coaching or preparing students for competitive exams (e.g. entrance exams, medical/engineering/other) would be considered a strong plus.
• Ability to mentor and motivate students, especially those preparing for board and competitive exams — offering extra classes / doubt‑clearing / problem‑solving sessions.
