What youll do

Sapiens is seeking a highly skilled and motivated
Performance Team Lead
to take ownership of performance engineering efforts across multiple products and projects. This is a hands-on leadership role, combining technical expertise with team coordination, strategy definition, cross-team collaboration, and continuous improvement. As a Performance Team Lead, you will:
- Lead and mentor performance engineers across geographies and teams.
- Define and enforce performance testing methodologies, standards, and best practices across the organization.
- Own the full performance testing lifecycle: requirements gathering, test planning, scripting, execution, analysis, and reporting.
- Identify and troubleshoot system and application bottlenecks; drive root cause analysis and recommend tuning strategies.
- Collaborate with QA, DevOps, R&D, product, and architecture teams to ensure performance requirements are met throughout the development lifecycle.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), benchmarks, and capacity metrics to support decision-making.
- Build dashboards and reports to provide stakeholders with visibility into system performance and trends.
- Oversee the integration of performance testing into CI/CD pipelines to support ongoing delivery and reliability goals.
- Introduce innovative tools, frameworks, and AI/ML capabilities (e.g., anomaly detection, predictive insights, intelligent alerting) to enhance testing, monitoring, and automation.
- Drive standardization and knowledge sharing across teams, and support performance testing reviews and approvals for key releases.
- Contribute to planning team structure, onboarding, and process scalability as the team evolves.
What to Have for this position:
Must have Skills:-
- BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in performance engineering.
- 2+ years in a leadership or mentoring role.
- Strong experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, OctoPerf).
- Solid understanding of modern web architecture, APIs, backend systems, and distributed environments.
- Proficiency in SQL and Oracle for data preparation and analysis.
- Experience with Linux-based systems and OS-level troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with profiling and APM tools (e.g., Dynatrace, YourKit, AppDynamics).
Soft Skills & Mindset:

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities; comfortable diving deep into technical issues.

- AI/ML experience for performance diagnostics, test result analysis, or smart alerting.
- Experience leading cross-project or cross-regional performance initiatives.
