Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Ownership of Daily Task List

  • Completion of all daily tasks for Ops Team, ensuring escalations are timely when needed.

Query Handling

  • Work closely with internal payroll teams, HR Ops and external vendors.
  • Respond to payroll-related queries from colleagues and provide clear, timely resolutions via Servicenow, group inboxes or calls.

Payroll Processing

  • Accurately process end to end payroll according to monthly timetable.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records.
  • Process new hires, terminations, and changes to employee data (e.g., promotions, salary adjustments).
  • Process statutory and voluntary deductions (e.g., taxes, pensions, benefits).
  • Coordinate with HR and benefits providers to ensure accurate deductions.

Data Management

  • Using reports to check data for accuracy from weekly/monthly runs and highlighting any issues or concerns in a timely manner.

Continuous Improvement & Collaboration

  • Support automation and digital transformation initiatives & identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes.
  • Work closely with Payroll teams, Ask HR, HR Ops teams, & Digital to ensure efficient running of processes.

Documentation Management

  • Maintain work instructions for Operational processes.

Change Process

Support with testing as and when Operational knowledge is required.

Preferred candidate profile

Attention to Detail

  • Exceptional attention to detail in managing payroll data in large volumes and numerical accuracy.

Communication Skills

  • Keep stakeholders informed of progress, blockers, and changes
  • Share knowledge and updates that benefit the wider team.

Technical Proficiency

  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems and tools, along with MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.

Accountability

  • Completing tasks and deliverables from start to finish.
  • Follow through on commitments without needing reminders.

Regulatory Knowledge

  • Expertise in payroll legislation, including tax regulations, statutory deductions, and employment laws.

Analytical Skills

  • Proficiency in analyzing payroll data, spotting trends or risks, and recommending process improvements.

Confidentiality & Integrity

  • Ability to handle sensitive colleague data with discretion and integrity.
