Key Responsibilities:

Billing & Charge Entry:

Enter and validate patient demographic, insurance, and charge details into the billing software accurately.
Review superbills, charge sheets, or encounter forms for completeness before submission.
Ensure correct application of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes based on documentation and client-specific requirements.
Verify provider, facility, and payer details to avoid claim rejections.
Manual Billing through Payer Portals (i.e. Medicare Direct Data Entry, Payer Portals, etc.) if necessary
Identify and correct missing or inconsistent billing information.

Payment Posting

Post
insurance payments
(EOB/EFT/ERA) and
patient payments
(cash, check, credit card, online) into the billing system.
Ensure payments are posted to the
correct patient account
,
date of service
, and
procedure code
.
Process
electronic remittance advice (ERA)
and
manual EOBs
.
