Job Title: Passive Fund Manager

Location: Mumbai - Prabhadevi

Job Summary:

The Passive Fund Manager is responsible for managing index-tracking portfolios such as ETFs and index mutual funds. The role involves ensuring that the funds replicate the performance of the target benchmark index as closely and cost-effectively as possible, while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and internal investment policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Portfolio Management

Manage passive investment portfolios to replicate benchmark indices (e.g., Nifty 500, Sensex, S&P 500 etc).

Monitor and minimize tracking error between the fund and the benchmark.

Implement index rebalances, corporate actions, and reconstitutions accurately and on schedule.

Oversee portfolio cash management and ensure optimal execution of trades.

Collaborate with traders to maintain efficient execution in equity, fixed income, or derivative instruments.

Maintain strong understanding of index methodologies and changes.

Performance & Risk Monitoring

Monitor fund performance daily and provide detailed attribution and variance analysis.

Ensure adherence to risk management policies and regulatory investment limits.

Regularly review and optimize portfolio efficiency (liquidity, transaction costs, replication method, etc.).

Support product development teams in launching new passive products or strategies.

Qualifications:

Education & Certifications

MBA, CFA, or equivalent preferred.

Experience

3-5 years of experience in passive fund management.

Proven experience managing or supporting index-tracking strategies.

Strong understanding of domestic & global capital markets, index methodologies, and portfolio construction.

Skills

Excellent quantitative and analytical skills.

Proficiency with portfolio management systems and market data tools (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet).

Added advantage : Strong programming or data analysis skills (Python, VBA, SQL).

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
