Part-time Optometrist

As an Optometrist, your main role will involve conducting comprehensive eye examinations using specialized optometric equipment. You will be responsible for diagnosing and managing common eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and dry eye, and prescribing appropriate medications. Additionally, you will prescribe and fit corrective lenses (eyeglasses and contact lenses) as well as other vision aids to help patients with vision correction. Your responsibilities will also include providing pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries. This will involve monitoring healing progress and managing any potential complications that may arise. Furthermore, you will play a crucial role in educating patients on their vision issues, recommending suitable solutions, and guiding them on the proper use of corrective lenses and eyewear. In a retail or customer-focused setting, you will be expected to greet and assist walk-in customers, offer advice on eyewear choices, and address any customer concerns. You will also engage in sales and promotion activities by recommending appropriate eyewear solutions, explaining the features of different lenses, and working towards achieving sales targets. Additionally, you may be involved in store operations, including stock management and maintaining the overall appearance and organization of the retail space. In leadership positions, you may also have the opportunity to mentor and train new optometrists on clinical and customer service skills. Please note that this is a part-time position with an expected commitment of 5 hours per week. The work location for this role is in person.
