Part Time Accountant

As a Part-Time Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards on a flexible schedule. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in accounting who are looking for a reduced workload or additional professional opportunities. Your main responsibilities will include maintaining accurate financial records, such as invoices, receipts, and ledgers. You will record daily transactions and ensure proper categorization in accounting software. Additionally, you will reconcile bank statements and other accounts to guarantee accuracy and prepare monthly, quarterly, or annual financial reports as required. You will also assist in budgeting and forecasting processes. In terms of tax compliance, you will be tasked with calculating and preparing tax returns (GST, VAT, income tax, etc.) and ensuring timely submission of tax filings while complying with regulations. You will also assist in preparing documentation for internal and external audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies. Furthermore, you will need to provide insights on financial performance and suggest cost-saving measures as part of your ad hoc financial tasks. The role requires proven work experience as an accountant, preferably in a similar part-time or flexible role, along with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is a plus. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, Xero) and MS Office Suite, especially Excel, is essential. Strong analytical skills to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights, attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance in financial tasks, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills are also required. This part-time position requires 10 hours per week with weekend availability only. If you have at least 1 year of accounting experience and GST expertise, this role may be a good fit for you.
