Job Title: Paramedic Occupational Health Centre

Location:

Job Purpose:

To provide timely first aid and emergency medical care to employees and contract workers within the factory premises. This role supports the Factory Medical Officer (FMO) in daily clinical operations, health monitoring, digital recordkeeping, medicine inventory management, and health education initiatives, thereby contributing to improved employee health and workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Emergency Medical Support

  • Manage workplace medical emergencies, including trauma, burns, lacerations, and chemical exposures.
  • Administer first-line care and stabilize patients for referral to hospitals.
  • Perform wound dressing and basic suturing, under the supervision of the FMO or as per defined protocols.
  • Accompany patients in the ambulance during transfers to nearby hospitals for continued care.

2. Monthly Health Monitoring

  • Conduct regular BP and vitals checks for specific employee categories such as bus drivers and canteen staff.
  • Identify abnormal readings, document them, and escalate concerns to the FMO.
  • Support early identification and intervention for potential health risks among employees.

3. Health Education & Wellness Support

  • Deliver periodic awareness sessions on topics like personal hygiene, lifestyle disorders, and seasonal health risks.
  • Assist in organizing monthly health talks and on-site wellness activities.
  • Coordinate with the FMO for scheduling specialist doctor visits.
  • Post-medical check-up: Review employee reports, flag abnormalities, counsel employees, and promote personal health responsibility and follow-up care.

4. Digital Documentation & Software Usage

  • Maintain accurate and timely digital entries of patient data, treatment records, and referrals using the OHC software.
  • Ensure documentation aligns with the OHC guidelines and prescribed formats.
  • Generate daily/weekly/monthly reports for internal and regulatory purposes.

5. Medicine & Inventory Management

  • Maintain stock registers, monitor expiry dates, and ensure continuous availability of essential medicines and consumables.
  • Assist in monthly stock audits and raise indents as per requirement.
  • Ensure proper storage, usage logs, and replenishment planning.

6. Coordination & Reporting

  • Support the FMO in maintaining complete case histories and referral documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with EHS, HR, and empanelled hospitals for coordination of care and emergency response.
  • Share daily OHC updates, communicate first aid incidents promptly, and circulate monthly MIS reports to stakeholders.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education

    :
    • B.Sc. Nursing / GNM (General Nursing & Midwifery) / ANM / MPHW
  • Experience

    :
    • 1 - 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in an industrial or occupational health setting.
  • Key Skills

    :
    • Proficiency in first aid and emergency response
    • Wound care and basic suturing techniques
    • Monitoring and documentation of vital signs
    • Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation
    • Good communication skills in the local language and basic English
