Role Overview

The Package Purchase Executive will be responsible for handling the procurement and quality of packaging materials (boxes, printed cartons, etc.), ensuring timely delivery, vendor coordination, and supporting the production team with packaging requirements. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of box quality standards, printing processes, and vendor management, along with the ability to coordinate between internal teams and external printing press vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and finalize packaging material requirements in coordination with the production team based on future production schedules.
  • Ensure quality checks for packaging materials, including box build quality, durability, and print accuracy.
  • Assist in the design development of packaging (layout, printing specifications, and branding requirements).
  • Source, negotiate, and coordinate with printing press vendors for timely and cost-effective procurement of packaging materials.
  • Track vendor performance in terms of quality, delivery timelines, and cost efficiency.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and develop new sources of packaging suppliers.
  • Ensure packaging material is delivered ahead of production deadlines to avoid delays.
  • Monitor stock levels of packaging materials and update management regularly.
  • Maintain accurate records of packaging purchase orders, vendor communications, and quality reports.
  • Stay updated with new packaging trends, technologies, and materials for process improvement.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of box build quality, printing techniques (offset, flexo, etc.), and material standards. Proficiency in CorelDRAW, InDesign, and other design tools is preferred and considered an advantage.
  • Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with production, design, and vendor teams.
  • Eye for detail with strong quality assurance skills.
  • Good communication and follow-up skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for documentation and reporting.
  • Time management skills with ability to handle multiple vendor interactions simultaneously.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, Printing Technology, or any Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in packaging procurement, vendor management, or related field.
  • Experience in FMCG / Printing / Manufacturing industry is an added advantage.
