Job Description

As a Package Design Engineer at Micron Technology, your primary responsibility will be to execute package design of DRAM designs on time with 100% quality. You will support the design of highly integrated packages to ensure optimal electrical performance, manufacturability, and reliability while reducing Turnaround time. Collaboration with customers, internal process design teams, OSATs, and other ecosystem partners will be essential for driving innovations into future memory generations within a dynamic work environment. Your role will involve setting up designs, rules, and routing methodologies for advanced processes, as well as participating in package and DFMEA reviews with assembly engineering and subcon teams. You will be responsible for generating and updating assembly documents in the database, providing drafting and drawing support for various types of drawings, and working closely with SBT suppliers, OSATs, and other partners to meet their packaging requirements. Feasibility studies for different package options, assessing designs for manufacturability and reliability, and supporting a data-driven culture and operational excellence will be integral parts of your responsibilities. Leading package and DFM reviews, engaging with key Business Unit customers, and proposing package solutions that align with customer and market needs are also key aspects of this role. Qualifications for this position include an Mtech in electrical engineering (preferred), Electronics or a related field covering a wide range of topics in mechanical engineering, materials science, or other interdisciplinary areas. Ideal candidates should have three or more years of industry experience, preferably 5+ years, in advanced memory substrate design, design optimization for Signal and Power Integrity, and proficiency in tools such as Cadence (Allegro Package Designer+), Siemens/MentorGraphics (Xpedition tool suite), and AutoCAD (Autodesk Mechanical). Effective communication skills, strong computer proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a multicultural environment are essential for success in this role. Additionally, candidates should possess the ability to prioritize and manage numerous projects successfully, along with a willingness to travel as needed.
