Roles & Responsibilities

  • Final editing and approval of news pages and digital content
  • Write and approve headlines, standfirsts, captions, and page layouts
  • Ensure factual accuracy, legal compliance, and editorial balance
  • Handle breaking news and last-minute page changes independently
  • Coordinate with reporters, designers, digital, and printing teams
  • Supervise and mentor junior output editors
  • Maintain consistency with editorial tone and house style

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Journalism or related field
  • 3–10 years of newsroom experience in a news publication
  • Excellent command of Tamil; strong English editing skills preferred
  • Strong editorial judgment and leadership abilities
  • Proven experience handling deadline-driven environments
