Maintaining sterility, preparing instruments, and assisting surgeons by passing tools and anticipating needs before, during, and after surgery to ensure patient safety and an efficient workflow, acting as the surgeon's primary sterile assistant.

Key Skills & Qualifications

• Education: A Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) or a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) is typically required.
• Certification: Valid nursing registration is mandatory. Specialized certifications like CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) are often preferred.
• Attention to Detail: Critical for accurate instrument counts and monitoring sterility.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods (often 8–10 hour shifts) while maintaining focus.
• Calm Under Pressure: Essential for managing high-stress emergency situations
