Job Description

Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)

Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and upgrade
Oracle databases (11g, 12c, 19c)
in standalone and clustered environments.
Perform
database administration tasks
, including monitoring, tuning, patching, backup, and recovery.
Implement and manage
RMAN backup & recovery
,
Data Guard
, and
Flashback
technologies.
Monitor system health and performance, ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
Perform
performance tuning
of SQL queries, PL/SQL procedures, and instance-level configurations.
Create and maintain database documentation, standards, and procedures.
Support development teams in query optimization, schema design, and capacity planning.
Configure and manage
Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
or other monitoring tools.
Implement and maintain
database security
, including roles, privileges, auditing, and encryption.
Provide
on-call support
, including incident resolution and root cause analysis for database-related issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

4 to 6 years of hands-on experience as an
Oracle DBA
in a production environment.
Strong understanding of
Oracle RDBMS architecture
,
SQL
,
PL/SQL
, and
Oracle ASM
.
Experience with
Oracle RAC, Data Guard
, and
Oracle Enterprise Manager
.
Proficiency in
performance tuning
,
troubleshooting
, and
SQL query optimization
.
Experience with
backup/recovery strategies
using
RMAN
.
Familiarity with
Unix/Linux
shell scripting and
database patching/upgrade
procedures.
Experience in managing
large and complex databases
and working in 24x7 environments.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have):

Exposure to
cloud platforms
(e.g., Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS, Azure) for database deployment.
Experience with
Oracle GoldenGate
or other replication technologies.
Knowledge of
NoSQL databases
or hybrid architectures.
Oracle certifications (OCA/OCP) are an added advantage.
Familiarity with
DevOps
and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
