Oracle Database Administrator

Job Description: You will be working as an Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) at TCS in Hyderabad, India. Your experience required for this role is 4 to 7 years. Key Responsibilities: - Install, configure, upgrade, and manage Oracle databases across development, testing, and production environments. - Monitor database performance, implement performance tuning, and optimize queries. - Design and implement backup and recovery strategies using RMAN or other tools. - Manage disaster recovery plans and ensure database availability and resilience. - Implement database security policies, including user management, access controls, and encryption. - Perform audits to ensure compliance with security standards. - Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. - Optimize database queries, indexes, and configurations for efficient operations. - Handle database incidents, root cause analysis, and problem resolution. - Provide support for database issues and ensure minimal downtime. - Apply database patches and updates as required. - Maintain database software and hardware compatibility. - Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures. - Provide knowledge transfer and training to other team members. Technical Skills: - Proficiency in Oracle 11g/12c/19c database administration. - Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard. - Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL programming. - Expertise in tools like RMAN, OEM, and database performance monitoring utilities. Other Skills: - Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Preferred Skills: - Experience with cloud-based Oracle solutions such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). - Knowledge of other database technologies like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server. - Certification in Oracle Database Administration is a plus.
