Optical Network Engineer

Role Overview: As a Network Engineer at Ciena, your primary responsibility will be to deliver Network Transformation and Modernization services by analyzing customers" networks, identifying network solutions, and planning integration/conversion requirements to meet their needs. You will support the Sales Account team, PLM, and Eng Acct Owner on proposal activities and revenue opportunities. Your role will involve creating complex engineering procedures to migrate, reconfigure, and modernize customers" networks, driving changes remotely during off hours and weekends. Additionally, you will work closely with SPM to ensure customer network expectations are met. Key Responsibilities: - Implement complex upgrades of Ciena Equipment on Customers In-Service networks without impacting end-user services - Develop and present complex network modernization solutions - Perform network audits and architecture design for end-to-end modernization - Plan, develop, and execute Customer modernization plans via the EMOP process - Create and own Engineering Method of Procedures (EMOP) for modernization projects - Validate the proper execution of actions taken by the Assigned Project Team as per EMOP steps - Own the creation of Complex/Custom EMOPs for new Deployments and In-Service Upgrades - Participate in pre-deployment setup conference calls with customers - Support pre-sales custom service estimates Qualifications Required: - B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field - 5-8 years of experience with Live network migration and telecommunication consulting - Verizon Business Experience and Tools (ICON, CCP, Nautilus, etc) knowledge is a plus Additional Company Details: At Ciena, we are committed to creating an environment where employees feel respected, valued, and heard.
