Opportunity For Lead Trailer, Bus Integration

Key Responsibilities

As a Tractor Trailer & Bus Body Design Lead, you will:

• Design Leadership: Lead the end-to-end design and development of new tractor trailers and bus body structures, focusing on safety, durability, and cost
• Structural Analysis: Perform and oversee structural analysis (FEA) to ensure designs meet all performance, load, and durability requirements.
• Project Management: Manage and coordinate design projects, from conceptualization and feasibility studies to detailed design, prototyping, production release.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and marketing teams to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, cost, and market requirements.
• Component & Material Selection: Specify and evaluate materials, components, and sub-systems, including chassis, axles, suspension, and braking systems, for both trailers and bus bodies. • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with relevant national and international safety standards and regulations (e.g., FMVSS, ECE).
• Documentation: Create & maintain detailed engg documentation, including CAD models, 2D drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and technical reports.
• Supplier Coordination: Collaborate with key suppliers to develop and validate components, ensuring they meet design specifications and quality standards.
• Team Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, supporting their professional growth and development within the design team
• Professional experience in commercial vehicle design. • Specific and demonstrated experience in both tractor trailer and bus body design is a must. • Proven experience in leading design projects and mentoring junior engineers. • Strong knowledge of structural design principles and FEA (Finite Element Analysis) for commercial vehicle structures.
• CAD software Catia/Creo/UG Nx • MS Office tools • Experience with DFMEA, DVP&R, and APQP processes. • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards for commercial vehicles
