Operation Theatre Technician

Job Title: OT Technician Location: Dr. Aravindh’s IVF Centre Experience Required: 0–3 Years Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary:

The OT (Operation Theatre) Technician will assist in all surgical and IVF-related procedures by ensuring proper preparation, sterilization, and maintenance of the OT environment. The candidate should have hands-on experience in operation theatre protocols, particularly in obstetrics, gynecology, and fertility/IVF settings.

Key Responsibilities:1. Operation Theatre Preparation

• Prepare the OT before procedures, ensuring all equipment, instruments, and supplies are ready.
• Maintain sterility and ensure all protocols are followed as per hospital standards.
• Assist in setting up IVF-related instruments such as laparoscopic tools, ultrasound equipment, and embryo transfer kits (if applicable).

2. Assistance During Procedures

• Assist the surgeon and nursing staff during IVF, gynecological, and minor surgical procedures.
• Handle instruments, maintain sterile fields, and provide immediate support as needed.
• Ensure proper functioning of OT equipment during procedures.

3. Sterilization & Equipment Maintenance

• Sterilize instruments using autoclaves and other sterilization methods.
• Maintain logs of sterilization records and equipment usage.
• Perform routine checks on OT instruments and report any malfunction.

4. Patient Handling

• Assist in shifting patients to and from the OT with care.
• Help in patient preparation before procedures.

5. Documentation & Inventory

• Maintain OT records, procedure notes, and equipment inventory.
• Ensure availability of surgical consumables and raise requisitions when needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma in OT Technology / BSc OTT or equivalent.
• 0–3 years of experience working as an OT Technician (experience in IVF or gynecology preferred).
• Strong understanding of sterilization protocols and OT procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-precision environment.
• Good communication skills and teamwork abilities.
• Knowledge of IVF-specific instruments is an added advantage.
