Operation Theatre (OT) Technician

As an OT Technician at Kalyanam Karoti Eye Institute, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the smooth functioning of our Modular Operation Theatres and support ophthalmic surgeons in providing high-quality eye care to our patients. Your role will involve preparing and maintaining OT equipment, instruments, and supplies, ensuring adherence to sterile protocols, and assisting in surgical procedures while upholding patient safety. Your responsibilities will include sterilizing surgical instruments, maintaining OT hygiene, monitoring inventory, and handling specialized ophthalmic equipment. You will be instrumental in transporting patients, providing pre- and post-operative care, and documenting surgery logs and patient records. Compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory norms will be paramount, along with readiness to assist in emergency situations and outreach surgical camps. To excel in this role, you should hold a Diploma in Operation Theatre Technology or equivalent, with a minimum of 12 years of experience as an OT Technician, preferably in ophthalmology. Familiarity with ophthalmic surgical instruments, infection control practices, and OT protocols is essential. Additionally, effective communication skills, teamwork abilities, and a commitment to patient safety and institutional values are key attributes for success. Desirable attributes include prior experience in eye hospitals or charitable healthcare institutions, willingness to participate in outreach surgical programs, and basic computer proficiency for documentation purposes.
