To excel in this role, you should hold a Diploma in Operation Theatre Technology or equivalent, with a minimum of 12 years of experience as an OT Technician, preferably in ophthalmology. Familiarity with ophthalmic surgical instruments, infection control practices, and OT protocols is essential. Additionally, effective communication skills, teamwork abilities, and a commitment to patient safety and institutional values are key attributes for success. Desirable attributes include prior experience in eye hospitals or charitable healthcare institutions, willingness to participate in outreach surgical programs, and basic computer proficiency for documentation purposes.
