Job Description

Role & responsibilities Install, upgrade, patch, configure, and maintain OpenShift environments, including software implementations and upgrades. Troubleshoot and resolve issues within the OpenShift environment, Kubernetes to ensure smooth operation. Collaborate with development and operations teams to design, implement, and maintain OpenShift solutions. Manage and support containerized applications, including deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of the OpenShift/Container platform. Provide hands-on expertise with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, Grafana, and Splunk. Assist the application team in resolving issues with pods, such as crash loops, image pullbacks, and other errors. Monitor and optimize cluster performance to ensure high availability and reliability of the OpenShift platform. Implement security best practices within the OpenShift cluster to safeguard system integrity. Monitor cluster utilization and generate reports; forecast capacity growth requirements and handle capacity increases accordingly. Conduct regular backups and disaster recovery operations, including backups of critical configurations and databases as needed, or before maintenance activities. Provide hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud products to ensure efficient system management. Demonstrate strong architectural and engineering knowledge in DevOps/CI/CD processes Preferred candidate profile Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience with Red Hat OpenShift 3.x/4.x , Kubernetes and RHEL/Linux system administration. DevOps Tools: Proficiency with DevOps tools and concepts, including Jenkins, Groovy, Docker, and microservices. Cloud Experience: Experience working in a cloud-based environment, preferably Azure. Agile Environment: Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in an Agile environment. Database Knowledge: Proficient with MS SQL, Postgre and MySQL. Cloud Products: Experience with AWS / Azure cloud products and services. Scripting: Familiarity with scripting tools such as Perl. Application Architecture: Understanding of Java/JEE/Spring Boot application architecture.
