Offshore Tax Preparer (Individual and Business Returns)

As an experienced Offshore Tax Preparer at our U.S.-based accounting firm, your role will involve focusing solely on preparing federal and state tax returns for both individuals and business entities. You will collaborate with the onshore team and contribute to ensuring tax compliance while not directly engaging with clients. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare federal tax returns, including Form 1040, 1041, 1120S, 1120, and 1065. - Accurately prepare supporting schedules for depreciation, basis, allocations, and distributions. - Handle state tax filings and compliance across multiple jurisdictions. - Assist with extensions and amended returns as necessary. - Ensure all returns comply with IRS and state tax laws and regulations. - Stay updated on changes in tax codes affecting individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts. - Apply GAAP principles in preparing and reviewing financial data for tax reporting. - Collaborate with the U.S. team to receive and process client-provided data. - Maintain detailed digital workpapers, supporting schedules, and reconciliation files. - Follow standardized firm processes for efficiency and accuracy.
