Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Carry out day-to-day engineering activities on the shopfloor, ensuring smooth functioning of production equipment.
Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance for mechanical, electrical, and utility systems as per SOPs and GMP standards.
Troubleshoot equipment issues promptly to reduce downtime and ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
Support installation, commissioning, calibration, and qualification of new machinery and equipment.
Monitor equipment performance, maintain logbooks, checklists, and maintenance records accurately.
Coordinate with production, quality assurance, EHS, and utility teams for planned maintenance and shopfloor support.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols, engineering standards, and statutory regulations.
Assist in maintaining spare parts inventory, identifying critical spares, and communicating requirements to the engineering store.
Participate in audits, support CAPA implementation, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Report operational concerns, breakdown trends, and maintenance status to the Engineering Manager.

Desired Candidate Profile

Diploma/Degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Engineering.
2-3 years of relevant experience in engineering maintenance within a
pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing
facility.
Hands-on knowledge of shopfloor equipment, utilities (HVAC, compressed air, pumps, motors), and basic instrumentation.
Strong troubleshooting skills with understanding of preventive maintenance systems and GMP guidelines.
Ability to read engineering drawings and handle machine documentation.
Good communication, teamwork, and coordination skills for cross-functional interactions.
High sense of responsibility, adherence to safety standards, and readiness to work in shifts if required.
