Ocean Capacity Optimization Specialist M/F

As an Ocean Capacity Optimization Specialist at GEODIS, your primary responsibility will be to optimize the available allocation from Ocean carriers to maximize revenue yield from existing business. You will be required to monitor all agreed carrier contracts for enforceable and non-enforceable allocations to ensure that origins optimize utilization at all times. Your role will involve working with and contributing to a strong SOP-driven operational execution of end-to-end ocean freight control tower operations. You will seek opportunities to improve productivity across the Ocean operational functions, including supervisor level, by systematically applying Business Allocation methods and tools. Additionally, you will manage the optimized load planning rules, ensuring they are followed and directed to the vendors. It will be essential for you to have familiarity with the booking process and liaise with freight forwarders, SEA CARRIERS, CFS operators, Transporters, and Customs Brokers for shipment execution. Timely document collection and checks as per agreed control points will also be part of your responsibilities. Collaboration with other GEOs for seamless origin/destination responsibilities, identification of optimization requirements and opportunities with the Country Head, and alignment of priorities with the Global Account Manager/Operations HEAD will be key aspects of your role. You will drive process performance, ensure effective data capturing, and use various IT tools for gaining business insights. As an ideal candidate, you should have at least 3-5 years of experience in Ocean Freight Forwarding management. Strong analytical and conceptual capabilities, good communication and leadership skills, allocation and tools knowledge, and experience in their application are essential. You should also possess good ocean carriers" relationship and engagement, be result-oriented, a team player, and have strong negotiation skills. A tertiary education and excellent MS Office skills are required for this position. Your location for this full-time regular position will be in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
