Job Description

· Give complete and comprehensive report to the incoming supervisor and to NS as per set guidelines. · Arranges staffing as per need depending on workload in various units.(The staff will be arranged by area Incharges) Supervisors will act only if need arises · Respond to all codes. Presence is must during code Blue. Complete necessary documentation related to CB · Be present at the time of packing and handing over of dead body. Ensure appropriate coding on the body as per ICP.Ensure body is handed over with respect and dignity and is always dry · Ensure ambulance/staff/equipments readiness in all respect to pick drop pts in ambulance · Aware of movement of ambulance .Arrange staff as per demand and condition of pt.Check for complete documentation on return of ambulance · Prepare hospital census and ensure all night reports are sent on time ( send mid-night occupancy each day) · Meets all new admissions during her/his shift and ensures all orders are carried out by staff · Checks all pre/post op patients for appropriate part preparation, draping, completion of all records including clearance etc. · Post operative patients must be checked for administration of antibiotics, BT. Drains etc · All pts on BT/TPN/chemo to be checked for appropriate administration specially during evening and night shifts · Any extravasations/phlebitis to be checked and will ensure that cannula is replaced without wasting time · Supervisors will randomly check infusion rate of patients getting IV fluids without syringe pumps while on their rounds · Enquire from staff for non-availability of drugs. Take appropriate action immediately · Check for all incidents as laid in our QA standards and collects incident form staff during his/her own shift. · Check placement of cannula of nephrology pts · Nsg supervisors must have a list of all vacant beds. Ensure green status of every prepared bed. · Ensure appropriate transfer of patients placed in private wards due to non-availability of beds , by coordinating with councellors,Ensure transfers in PC · Randomly check pvt. Rooms for complete readiness to receive pts · Ensures MLCs are sent to security. They will hand over to the next shift supervisors if the same was not done. They must also ensure that police intimation is given in case of death/discharge or transfer of an MLC case · Maintain communication with patients, the families and other hospital staff to ensure compliance with hospital administrative and nursing policies. · Responds to patient/family/staff grievances and addresses them in professional manner upholding the organizational values. · Supervisors will immediately give information to nursing head in case of any untoward incident.
