Node.js Developer

Role Overview: Gunpowder Innovations, a technology-first company specializing in fintech and health tech, is seeking a Node.js Developer with a strong backend focus. As part of the engineering team, you will collaborate with frontend developers, designers, and product teams to create scalable APIs, manage cloud-based infrastructures, and occasionally contribute to Flutter-based front end development. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js. - Build secure, scalable, and high-performance server-side applications. - Collaborate with frontend (Flutter) and product teams to deliver end-to-end solutions. - Optimize backend performance and database queries for speed and reliability. - Integrate and manage cloud-based services, primarily AWS, to support backend operations. - Assist in Flutter-based development for mobile/web, contributing to full-stack solutions. - Ensure code quality through code reviews, testing, and adherence to best practices. Qualifications Required: - 3+ years of hands-on experience in Node.js development. - Strong proficiency in JavaScript and Node.js frameworks like Express.js. - Solid understanding of REST APIs, GraphQL, and integration with frontend applications. - Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or other relational and NoSQL databases. - Familiarity with AWS services (e.g., Lambda, RDS, S3) and deploying backend applications in cloud environments. - Basic knowledge of Flutter and Dart to collaborate effectively with frontend teams. - Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and backend testing frameworks. - Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while contributing to a collaborative engineering team.
