Quality & WorkmanshipCheck that: Shuttering is properly supported, aligned, and oiled. Steel is placed as per bar details and instructions (spacing, laps, cover blocks). Masonry work is straight, plumb, and properly jointed. Plaster is of correct thickness, smooth and crack-free as far as possible. Stop incorrect work immediately and correct at the same stage (not after finishing). Follow and fill basic checklists provided for activities (RCC, masonry, plaster, waterproofing, etc.). 4. Material Handling & HousekeepingCoordinate with stores/site in-charge for timely availability of materials (cement, sand, aggregates, blocks, steel, etc.). Ensure proper usage and minimal wastage of materials at site. Maintain general site housekeeping – removal of debris, cleaning of work areas, proper stacking of materials. Ensure material is unloaded and stacked in correct locations (as instructed) and protected from damage. 5. Safety & Discipline on SiteEnsure all workers follow basic safety practices: Use of helmets, safety belts, shoes (where provided) No working at height without proper scaffolding/railings Proper usage of ladders, scaffolding and temporary supports Maintain barricading and signage at risky zones (open edges, lift shafts, etc.) as instructed. Report any accident, unsafe condition or safety violation immediately to management. 6. Reporting & CoordinationMaintain Daily Progress Report (DPR) – work done, labour deployed, any issues. Share daily progress with the Senior Engineer / Project Manager (in prescribed format – WhatsApp/Excel/Register). Inform in advance about material shortage, urgent requirements or major site issues. Accompany Senior Engineer / Project Manager during site rounds and implement decisions on ground. Eligibility & QualificationsEducationDiploma in Civil Engineering / ITI (Civil / Survey / Drafting) OR Experienced Non-qualified Supervisor with very strong practical site experience will also be considered (for 10+ years hands-on). ExperienceMinimum 5–10 years experience in building construction. Experience in high-rise (G+8 and above) and/or basement works will be strongly preferred. Must have supervised RCC, masonry and plaster works in residential / commercial projects. Technical & Practical SkillsAbility to read and understand basic architectural and structural drawings (plans, elevations, sections, column layouts, slab layouts). Good practical knowledge of: Shuttering and reinforcement checks Concreting and curing Brick/block work, plaster, PCC Ability to use measuring tools (tape, level pipe, plumb bob, spirit level, line) accurately. Basic understanding of concrete, mortar mixes, and material usage. Behavioural CompetenciesVery strong on-ground presence – should like being on site full-time. Strict yet fair in handling labour and contractors. High sense of discipline, punctuality and responsibility. Good communication in Hindi (must) and basic understanding of English (for drawing names, markings, and instructions). Should be proactive – report problems early and not wait for issues to become serious. Other RequirementsFull-time site-based role (6 days a week; more hours on heavy work days like concreting). Preferably from Ranchi / nearby areas or willing to relocate near BIT Mesra.
