About the Role:

News Editor

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor global news sources, social media trends, and newswires for viral and trending stories
• Curate, rewrite, and edit stories ensuring clarity, factual accuracy, and engaging headlines
• Guide writers on story angles, headlines, and structure for trending news
• Ensure content aligns with editorial guidelines and maintains high quality and relevance
• Collaborate with social and video teams for timely distribution and repurposing of stories
• Work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments, especially during active news cycles
• Optimize content for SEO and engagement

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in digital news editing (international or trending news is a plus)
• Strong grasp of global current affairs, pop culture, and internet trends
• Excellent command of written English and journalistic ethics
• Ability to write catchy headlines and intros
• Familiarity with digital publishing platforms (WordPress/CMS tools)
• Willingness to work in night shifts
