Network Engineer

The Network Engineer II/III position based in Pune at the customer location involves providing high-level technical expertise to ensure the uptime and maintenance of critical networking systems. As a key element within the Rackspace Infrastructure team, you will take ownership of complex network issues, ensure their resolution, and document them for future reference. Additionally, you will be responsible for mentoring other Network Operations Engineers, creating training opportunities, and contributing to technology, tool, process, and training improvements for the team. Your role as a Network Operations Network Engineer III will involve troubleshooting various technical issues such as latency, packet loss, poor performance, DDoS attacks, switch and router hardware failures, configuration inconsistencies, and networking platform problems. You will also be responsible for planning and conducting complex maintenances, managing Internet providers and connectivity, and providing exceptional customer support to ensure customer loyalty. Key responsibilities include providing operational support, project-based initiatives, exceptional customer support, event detection using monitoring tools, mitigation of DDoS attacks, documenting network events, troubleshooting and resolving network issues, escalating support requests when necessary, adhering to Change Management and Maintenance policies, participating in Root Cause Analysis, and taking ownership of projects to ensure proper documentation and resolution. Key performance indicators for this role include providing correct and helpful expertise, maintaining high ticket evaluation results, achieving a high level of first pass yield and success on maintenances, responding promptly and correctly to network events, and maintaining proficiency in troubleshooting, tools, and technologies. This role is based at the customer location in Pune, India, and requires experience with technologies such as Cisco networking, Palo Alto firewalls, and Zscaler.
