Job Description and Person Specifications 1. Job Details Job Title: IT Network Engineer / Senior IT Network Engineer Area: Central IT Department Location: Kothrud, Pune 2. Job Purpose Provide support in IT LAN/WAN as a part of daily IT operations for MIT World Peace University, its campuses and allied organisations/sister concerns. 3. Key Accountability Strategic Support, participate in executing/implementing IT policy across the university and its sister concerns. Operational Responsibilities Network design: Design network architecture for LAN/WAN and VoIP networks Network installation: Install and configure network equipment Network maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and upgrades Network security: Configure firewalls, virus protection software, and data backups Network monitoring: Monitor network performance, availability, and reliability Network troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve network issues Network support: Provide support to users, staff, guests, events, online examinations and suppliers Network project management: Participate in major network projects Network capacity planning: Provide input into capacity planning Skills and qualifications Knowledge of networking technologies, including LAN/WAN, switching, routing, and firewalls Experience with network security, including firewalls and data security systems Experience with network management and monitoring tools Experience with IP routing, including TCP/IP and routing protocols Other responsibilities Collaborating with other team members Working with counterparts in sister concerns to suggest network solutions Training junior employees Keeping up with the latest network technology and industry trends Financial and Budget Range of IT Engineer / Senior Engineer, as applicable. Personal attributes and style - Detail oriented, service provider mindset Minimum Qualification & Experience Desirable- Any Graduate/Diploma in Engineering (IT, CS, ECE), Diploma/certifications in Networking, CISCO/CompTia certification 4-9 years hands on experience 5.
