Network and Security Engineer L2

Role & responsibilities

• Plan, design, and deploy network architectures, including installing and configuring hardware like routers, switches, firewalls ( like:  Palo Alto, Fortinet, Sophos)
• Maintain and manage the network, monitor performance, and ensure system availability and reliability.( like:  Solarwinds, Zabbix, PRTG)
• Diagnose and resolve network issues and outages promptly
• Conduct regular performance tuning and resource optimization to improve speed and reliability. (Like Bandwidth analysis, Taffic analysis, Packets analysis)
• Create and maintain accurate network documentation, including diagrams and configurations.
• Work with other IT teams and stakeholders to support business objectives and ensure the network aligns with organizational needs.
• Plan and execute network upgrades and expansions.
• Configure and implement Internet Security policies via Zscaler (like Content Filtering, Web Filtering, Proxy configuration, Posture Profiles )
• Monitoring ZCC and ZIA dashboards for anomalies 
• Monitor for connector usage
• Create Zscaler dashboards and reports to monitor and ensure SASE health.
• Zero Trust awareness and experience a plus.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve user experience issues and provide remediation recommendations.
• Investigate and apply Zscaler best practices.
• Document Zscaler standard operating procedures and protocols.
• Configuration, tuning, and maintenance of SIEM and SOAR platforms for effective threat detection and response.
• Proactively research emerging cyber threats, analyze their characteristics, and assess their potential impact on the organization
• Collaborate with security teams (SOC, incident response) and other stakeholders to share threat intelligence and improve overall security posture
• Identify vulnerabilities and provide insights to improve vulnerability management processes

Preferred candidate profile

• 8+ Years of Experience in Networking and Security 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work on weekends/rotational shifts/ Late night customer calls
• Ability to work in a fast paced, technology operation environment
• Self-Learning and adaptability to new technologies
• Experience in Agile development environments
• Good understanding of Core networking
