Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Neonatologist to join our medical team. The Neonatologist will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to new-born infants, particularly those who are premature, critically ill, or born with congenital conditions. The role involves working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and collaborating closely with paediatricians, nurses, obstetricians, and other specialists to ensure the highest standard of neonatal care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized medical care to premature and critically ill new-borns in the NICU.
• Diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions including respiratory distress, infections, birth defects, and other complications.
• Monitor vital signs and progress of neonates and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Perform and oversee procedures such as intubation, central line placement, and exchange transfusions.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including NICU nurses, respiratory therapists, lactation consultants, and paediatric surgeons.
• Communicate effectively with families, providing education, counselling, and emotional support.
• Participate in neonatal resuscitations and high-risk deliveries.
• Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with hospital protocols and national neonatal care guidelines.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical research, and continuing education.
• Provide training and supervision to residents, fellows, and medical students (if applicable).
