EY-GDS Technology Consulting Digital & Emerging Technologies - Java Staff
As part of Digital Java team, you are expected to work on various Java, Spring, Hibernate and Cloud projects for our customers across the globe and work collaboratively with other teams and seniors in ensuring smooth technical delivery.
The opportunity
We re looking for Java staff with expertise in Java technologies to join the GDS Technology Consulting Digital Java team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a leading firm whilst being instrumental in the growth of a new service offering.
Your key responsibilities
- Need to work as a team member in the development projects using Java technologies
- Working with the team leads/ other team members to ensure the timely delivery of the projects
- Contribute toward excellence in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Work closely with Project leads, Project Managers, Senior Business Analysts, and other development teams
- Completion of assigned tasks on time and regular status reporting to the lead
Skills and attributes for success
Mandatory
- Experience in Java 8 and above.
- Experience in REST APIs and Spring framework/Spring boot with JPA, Hibernate.
- Strong in SQL with experience in SQL Server/Oracle/any other RDBMS.
- Experience/working knowledge on Microservices
- Knowledge on coding and executing unit tests using Junit, Mockito etc.
- Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment
- Knowledge on object-oriented programming
- UI experience using HTML5, jQuery, JSON, JavaScript and CSS will be an added advantage
- Experience in projects managed in accordance with AGILE (SCRUM) methodology
- Version control software exposure like Git/Bitbucket/SVN/Clear case/PVCS/any other tool.
- Exposure to Tomcat or any application server
- Should have understanding and experience of software development best practices/clean code principles/debugging practices
- Attention to detail and commitment to high quality/error free deliverables
Good to have
- Experience with messaging technologies (e.g. Kafka, MQ, JMS)
- Working experience in Spring Cloud and cloud platforms preferably Azure
- NoSQL database - Mongo DB/Cassandra/any other
- Knowledge on the CMMI framework
- Exposure to caching solutions/mechanisms
- Knowledge on design patterns
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Bachelors/Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems Management, or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience
Ideally, you ll also have
- Knowledge on any of the emerging technologies
