The Managed Services Cross Technology Engineer (L1) role is an entry-level engineering position responsible for providing managed services to clients. The objective is to ensure that IT infrastructure and systems remain operational by proactively identifying, investigating, and resolving technical incidents and problems, restoring service by managing incidents to resolution. Key Responsibilities: - Monitors client infrastructure and solutions. - Identifies problems and errors before or when they occur. - Investigates incidents assigned and identifies root causes. - Provides telephonic or chat support to clients when required. - Follows required handover procedures for shift changes. - Reports and escalates incidents. - Updates knowledge articles or creates new ones. - Identifies opportunities for work optimization and process improvement. - May contribute to project work and disaster recovery functions. Knowledge and Attributes: - Ability to communicate and work across different cultures and social groups. - Ability to plan activities and projects well in advance, accounting for changing circumstances. - Ability to maintain a positive outlook and work well under pressure. - Ability to apply active listening techniques and adapt to changing circumstances. - Ability to prioritize client satisfaction and create a positive client experience. Academic Qualifications and Certifications: - Bachelor's degree in IT/Computing or equivalent qualification. - Relevant certifications in services provided (e.g., CCNA, Microsoft Certified, AWS Certified, etc.) are desirable. - Basic knowledge of ITIL processes. Required Experience: - Entry-level experience in troubleshooting and providing support in security, network, data center, systems, and storage administration. - Basic knowledge of management agents, redundancy concepts, and products in the supported technical domain. - Basic knowledge of ITIL processes.
