Overview
This role reports into Head Office in Sydney and is responsible for day-to-day financial operations, reporting, and process improvement. The Finance Manager will oversee the integrity of financial data, compliance, and team development while supporting strategic business outcomesKey Responsibilities
- Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement of finance systems and collaboration with external accountants
- Preparation, review and filing of statuary monthly and quarterly returns, including GST, IAS and Payroll Tax returns
- Ensure financial compliance with all regulatory and statutory obligations
- Ensure timely reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and internal controls
- Lead core accounting functions including AP, AR, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
- Mentor and support junior finance staff to foster a collaborative, high-performing team
- Oversee daily cash flow, treasury functions, and financial forecasting
- Oversee payroll and ensure compliance with awards, tax, and internal policies
- Prepare accurate monthly management reports and board packs with financial insights
About You
- CA/CPA qualified with 5+ years of experience of accounting standards and financial regulations
- Experience in Australia accounting and tax is a must
- Expertise in bookkeeping, preparing financial statements and annual tax returns
- Preparation, reviewing and filing statuary monthly and quarterly returns
- Has worked directly with stakeholders
- Effective communicator with ability to collaborate across departments
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, or Senior Accountant role
- Proactive, hands-on approach and commitment to continuous improvement
- Proficient in Excel and accounting systems such as NetSuite, TechOne, Xero, or MYOB
- Strong financial reporting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
