Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Model-Based Design (MBD) and Control Algorithm Technical Specialist to join our automotive development team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, modeling, and implementing control algorithms for automotive systems using MBD techniques. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and systems engineering, to develop robust and efficient control systems for advanced automotive applications such as ABS, ESC, EV, BMS,VCU, ADAS,Motor Controller. Key Responsibilities: MBD Model Development: Lead the development of control algorithms and models using Model-Based Design (MBD) methodologies for automotive systems, including but not limited to powertrain, electric drives, and chassis control systems. Utilize industry-standard MBD tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow) for control system modeling, simulation, and validation. Collaborate with system engineers to define control system requirements and convert them into functional models for simulation. Control Algorithm Design: Design, implement, and optimize advanced control algorithms, such as PID controllers, state-space models, nonlinear control, adaptive control, and optimal control techniques for automotive applications. Develop and simulate control strategies for various automotive subsystems like engine control, battery management, torque vectoring, and adaptive cruise control. Evaluate control strategies based on performance criteria such as system stability, response time, fuel efficiency, and safety. Integration and Testing: Integrate control algorithms with hardware and software systems, ensuring smooth interaction between the control system and vehicle subsystems. Perform extensive validation and verification of control models using simulation, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, and vehicle testing to meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements. Support testing activities to fine-tune algorithms, troubleshoot issues, and optimize control strategies for real-world conditions. Continuous Improvement and Optimization: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in MBD and control algorithms for automotive applications. Proactively identify and apply new methodologies, tools, and best practices to improve the efficiency and robustness of control algorithms. Drive innovation in control strategies for emerging automotive technologies, such as electric vehicles (EVs), autonomous driving, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with hardware engineers, software developers, and systems engineers to ensure that control algorithms are properly implemented and integrated into the broader vehicle architecture. Provide technical guidance and support to team members and stakeholders on control algorithm development, MBD tools, and model simulation. Assist in defining requirements, specifications, and testing procedures for control algorithms in collaboration with other engineering teams. Documentation and Reporting: Document control algorithms, models, simulations, and test results for traceability and future reference. Prepare technical reports, presentations, and other documentation for internal stakeholders, management, and customers, detailing algorithm performance and testing outcomes. Provide regular updates on project status, including any issues or risks. Required Qualifications and Skills: Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field. Advanced coursework or certifications in control systems, vehicle dynamics, or MBD is a plus. Experience: 7+ years of experience in Model-Based Design and control algorithm development in the automotive industry. Strong background in developing and implementing control algorithms for automotive subsystems, including powertrain, chassis control, ABS ,MCU and vehicle dynamics. Hands-on experience with MBD tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, or similar. Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, simulation tools, and automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, etc.). Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of control theory, including linear and nonlinear control, optimization, adaptive control, and modern control techniques. Expertise in MATLAB/Simulink model development, simulation, and validation of control systems. Proficient in modeling, simulating, and optimizing automotive systems, including powertrain, electric drivetrains, and vehicle control systems. Familiarity with vehicle dynamics modeling and control for applications such as stability control, traction control, and energy management in electric vehicles. Experience with real-time simulation, embedded systems, and integration of control algorithms with embedded ECUs. Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Proactive, self-motivated, and results-oriented. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with advanced vehicle technologies such as ADAS, electric vehicles (EVs), autonomous driving, or hybrid vehicles. Familiarity with functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262) and their application to control systems. Experience with vehicle simulation platforms such as dSPACE, AVL, or other automotive simulation tools. Knowledge of optimization techniques for real-time control and energy management. Working Conditions: Occasional travel may be required for on-site testing, customer meetings, or collaboration with external partners. Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment. Why Join Us? Work on cutting-edge automotive technologies that are shaping the future of mobility. Opportunities for career growth, development, and leadership in a fast-evolving industry.
