Mining Engineer

As a Mining Engineer at our leading mining company operating multiple sites across Australia, specializing in iron ore, coal, and gold extraction, your role will involve planning, designing, and overseeing mining operations while ensuring safety, efficiency, and environmental compliance. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and optimize mine plans, including pit designs, production schedules, and resource allocation - Conduct feasibility studies for new mining projects and expansions - Design and implement extraction sequences to maximize resource recovery - Prepare detailed mining proposals and technical reports - Supervise daily mining operations and coordinate with production teams - Monitor and optimize equipment utilization and productivity - Implement and maintain quality control procedures - Ensure compliance with mining regulations and company standards - Develop and enforce safety protocols and procedures - Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies - Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability practices - Lead safety training programs and incident investigations - Analyze geological data and ore reserve estimates - Optimize blasting patterns and ground control measures - Evaluate equipment performance and recommend improvements - Prepare cost estimates and budget forecasts - Supervise and mentor junior engineering staff and technicians - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including geologists, surveyors, and equipment operators - Provide technical guidance to operational teams - Participate in training and development programs Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field - 3-8 years of experience in mining operations - Strong knowledge of mining principles, practices, and regulations - Proficiency in mining software and technologies - Excellent communication and team collaboration skills - Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment Please note that the position includes full work permit sponsorship for qualified international candidates, offering a pathway to permanent residency in Australia.
