Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Domain Lead to head the Android Platform Team within our Automotive IVI division. This role is pivotal in driving the development, integration, and optimization of core Android platform components for next-generation infotainment systems. The ideal candidate will lead a team responsible for foundational Android services and HALs, ensuring seamless performance, stability, and scalability across multiple vehicle programs. Key Responsibilities: Platform Ownership: Lead the design, development, and integration of Android platform components including: Camera HAL & Framework Vehicle HAL (VHAL) Software Update Mechanisms (OTA, Delta Updates) Display Management & Composition App Framework & System Services Power Management & Sleep/Wake Cycles Sensor Calibration & Diagnostics Boot Optimization & System Performance Cross-Domain Coordination: Act as the primary interface for all Android platform-related topics not covered by other domain teams (e.g., Media, CarPlay, Android Auto, Tuner, Audio). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure platform stability and compatibility across domains. Technical Leadership: Define and enforce architecture standards, coding practices, and performance benchmarks. Guide the team in debugging complex system-level issues and optimizing platform performance. Stay updated with AOSP developments and integrate relevant changes into the IVI stack. Program & Stakeholder Management: Work closely with product managers, hardware teams, and OEM partners to align platform capabilities with vehicle requirements. Drive milestone planning, risk management, and delivery tracking for platform features. Team Development: Mentor and grow a team of Android system engineers and HAL developers. Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement. Required Qualifications: Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field. 10+ years of experience in embedded systems or Android platform development. Strong expertise in Android internals (AOSP), HAL development, and system services. Proven experience in leading platform teams in automotive or consumer electronics. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills. Preferred Skills: Experience with automotive-grade Android (AAOS) and Linux. Experience in HAL layers of automotive infotainment system Familiarity with diagnostic tools, log analysis, and performance profiling. Knowledge of automotive standards (e.g., ISO 26262, ASPICE). Exposure to infotainment features and integration with vehicle networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
