Microbiologist

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct microbiological testing including sterility testing, microbial limits testing, bioburden, and environmental monitoring.

• Perform isolation, identification, and characterization of microorganisms using biochemical, molecular, and microscopic techniques.

• Prepare, sterilize, and validate culture media, reagents, and laboratory equipment.

• Ensure compliance with GMP, GLP, ISO, FDA, and WHO guidelines.

• Maintain accurate documentation, test reports, SOPs, and laboratory records.

• Investigate out-of-specification (OOS) and out-of-trend (OOT) results and implement corrective actions.

• Support method development, validation, and verification activities.

• Participate in internal audits, regulatory inspections, and quality improvement initiatives.

• Train and mentor junior staff and laboratory technicians.

• Follow biosafety, waste management, and laboratory safety procedures.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of microbiological techniques and aseptic practices.

• Experience with environmental monitoring programs.

• Proficient in data analysis, report writing, and laboratory documentation.

• Familiar with laboratory instruments such as autoclaves, incubators, laminar airflow cabinets, and PCR systems.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related field.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant laboratory experience.
