About you Education, Experience and Skills:
- Bachelors degree and/or masters degree in library science or relevant subject
- 2+ year(s) experience working in Libraries/Digital Libraries/Digital Asset Management with 1+ years experience cataloging books, with increasing responsibility
- Experience in cataloging books, as well as non-print materials formats and non-English language
- Experience using validation programs such as MARCEdit and MarcReport
- Cataloging experience (original and copy cataloging) and subject analysis and classification for books content
- Experience with MARC, AACR2 and RDA, Library of Congress Program for Cooperative Cataloging Policy Statements, and Library of Congress authority files
- Demonstrated experience with MARC 21
- Knowledge of current and emerging cataloging and metadata standards, tools, and best practices
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail
It would be great if you also have :
- Cataloging experience in RDA for monographs, videos, music, scores, government documents
- Knowledge of XML, various schemas, books metadata standards
- Strong communication skills in a global environment
What would you be doing in this role
- Catalogue MARC records for eBook titles, applying authorized subjects, assigning class numbers, author headings and other access points, following the MARC and RDA rules and using Library of Congress authorities
- Validate MARC records using one or more validation tools, following the team documentationin the quality assurance process
- Enrich brief MARC records to full MARC records for eBook titles
- Analyze and improve Library of Congress subject headings, classification numbers and Dewey numbers
- Develop an understanding of our eBook, video, and government products
