Merchandising Head - Sweater Category

You are a Merchandising Head for the Sweater Category at Active Clothing Co. Ltd. located in Mohali, Punjab. Your primary responsibility is to lead a merchandising team that handles brand requirements, product development, costing, buyer communication, and order execution from concept to shipment. Your role requires expertise in sweaters, buyer protocol adherence, and coordination with production and sourcing teams to deliver quality products on time and within cost. As the Merchandising Head, your key responsibilities include serving as the primary contact for the brand's buying/merchandising team, understanding brand DNA, negotiating orders and pricing with buyers, managing T&A calendars, overseeing the design and development of seasonal sweater collections, guiding sampling teams, ensuring timely sample approvals, submitting lab dips and trims to buyers, costing and order confirmation, managing production coordination and execution, tracking market trends, overseeing technical and compliance requirements, maintaining documentation, leading and coordinating cross-functional teams, and training junior merchandisers. To excel in this role, you must have a strong knowledge of sweater construction, experience working with international brands, commercial acumen, effective communication and negotiation skills, TNA management expertise, familiarity with AI tools, and the ability to lead and motivate a team towards achieving company goals. Your success in this position will be measured by your ability to deliver quality products within cost, maintain strong buyer relationships, track market trends, ensure compliance with technical specifications, and lead a motivated team towards meeting KPIs and targets.
