MEP Head (Electrical/Mechanical)

Role Overview

The MEP Head will be responsible for overseeing all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) activities associated with large-scale building and infrastructure projects. The role demands deep technical expertise in HT/LT electrical systems, project execution, liaisoning with governing authorities such as WBSEDCL. The incumbent will lead a multidisciplinary team to ensure timely completion, safety compliance, and operational excellence across projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee planning, design, and execution of all MEP works within building and infrastructure projects.
  
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, statutory requirements, and internal quality parameters.
  
• Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of HT/LT electrical systems, HVAC, fire-fighting, and plumbing systems.
  
• Coordinate with external agencies, vendors, consultants, and WBSEDCL or similar bodies for project approvals and execution.
  
• Review and approve technical drawings, BOQs, and project schedules.
  
• Lead and mentor the MEP project team, ensuring performance, accountability, and adherence to timelines.
  
• Conduct periodic site inspections and audits to assess progress and quality.
  
• Manage project budgets, cost estimations, and vendor negotiations.
  
• Collaborate closely with civil, structural, and architectural teams for integrated project delivery.
  

Required Skills & Competencies

• In-depth technical expertise in

  HT/LT systems, HVAC, plumbing, and fire safety systems

• Strong understanding of

  project management, electrical load calculations, and building codes

• Proven experience in

  liaisoning with WBSEDCL or other statutory authorities

• Strong leadership, team management, and decision-making skills.
