Job Title: MEP Engineer Hospital Projects

Job Purpose:

The MEP Engineer will be responsible for the design, coordination, execution, and quality assurance of all MEP systems (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) in a hospital project. This role ensures compliance with healthcare standards, codes, and project timelines, contributing to the successful delivery of highly functional, safe, and sustainable hospital infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Planning:

• Review and verify MEP design drawings, calculations, and BOQs submitted by consultants and contractors.
• Ensure MEP designs comply with local healthcare standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, HTM, etc.).
• Coordinate with architectural and structural teams for MEP integration.
• Participate in the selection of systems for HVAC, lighting, fire protection, medical gas, plumbing, and emergency power.

Project Execution:

• Oversee on-site MEP installations and ensure adherence to drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
• Supervise MEP contractors, monitor progress, and resolve technical issues.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for timely delivery of MEP materials and systems.
• Ensure that systems are installed correctly, tested, and commissioned properly.

Compliance & Quality:

• Conduct site inspections and prepare inspection reports for MEP systems.
• Ensure compliance with hospital safety, hygiene, and environmental regulations.
• Review method statements, risk assessments, and testing & commissioning plans.
• Coordinate mock-up installations and validation with healthcare authorities.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain documentation of all MEP works (drawings, test reports, approvals, etc.).
• Prepare regular progress reports and escalate issues to project leadership.
• Assist in handover documentation and facility management training.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
• Minimum 5–10 years of MEP experience, with at least 2–3 years in hospital or healthcare projects.
• Strong knowledge of hospital infrastructure standards: HTM, HBN, NFPA, ASHRAE, etc.
• Familiar with medical gas systems, infection control HVAC standards, emergency power systems, and BMS integration.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, MS Project, and relevant design software.
• Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
