Medical Physicist - Radiation Oncology

As a Medical Physicist at our organization, your role will involve planning radiation treatments for cancer patients and performing dose calculations. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate measurement of radiation output from sources used in cancer therapy and performing patient dosimetry as needed. Additionally, you will investigate equipment performance, organize quality control practices, design radiation installations, and implement controls for medical radiation hazards. Key Responsibilities: - Plan radiation treatments for cancer patients - Perform dose calculations - Ensure accurate measurement of radiation output - Perform patient dosimetry - Investigate equipment performance - Organize quality control practices - Design radiation installations - Implement controls for medical radiation hazards - Design shields for treatment rooms - Ensure safe operation of teletherapy machines - Consult with Sr. Physicists, Medical Doctors, and CT Technicians - Provide instruction to professional staff in treatment planning - Assist in the development of new treatment techniques - Maintain required records, reports, and files - Collect necessary statistics - Report to the HOD regarding safety aspects, equipment-related aspects, and mishaps - Participate in academic activities of the department and organization - Contribute to the Quality Initiative Improvement and protocols of the department and organization Qualifications Required: - M.Sc in Physics - Diploma in Radiological Physics or M.Sc in Medical Physics This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a dedicated team of professionals in a challenging and rewarding environment.
