Medical Assistant

As a Medical Assistant at Orthopaedic Associates in Fort Walton Beach, FL, your main role will be to work under the direct supervision of Orthopedic Surgeons. You will need to have a strong knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology, effective communication skills, and excellent computer skills to work with the EMR system. Your exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills will be crucial as you collaborate with the clinic staff to provide high-quality treatment and efficient service to patients. This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday, with no night or weekend shifts. **Key Responsibilities:** - Facilitate the workflow of the clinic - Send tasks for all needed authorizations and referrals - Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs and patient history summary - Secure and maintain patient information confidentially - Counsel patients by transmitting physician's orders - Maintain a safe and healthy work environment - Assist with injections and other medical tasks related to orthopedic injuries **Qualifications Required:** - Knowledge of healthcare field and medical specialty - Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to project a pleasant and professional image - Skill in operating office/medical equipment - Compassion and caring in dealing with patients and families In addition to the above responsibilities, other duties may include assisting with the treatment of orthopedic injuries, applying and removing casts and splints, and returning patient calls.
